Palomba® frames sound insulation up to 38 Rw(db)The sound insulation of the environment where we live is a very important aspect concerning people’s health as well as the respect for the living comfort according to the use of the very living environment.
This is ruled by the 5-12-1997 D.P.C.M. (Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers) about the passive sound requirements of the buildings.
In a living environment the most vulnerable element for the sound protection is the frame and its accessories (the box, for example).
So, it is just to these elements that Palomba®mainly pays attention in order to achieve excellent levels of sound comfort.
The soundproofing power of an element is the ability to provide passive protection against noise.
Soundproofing power is usually measured in decibels (db) whereas, when speaking about frames, it is expressed in Rw (C, Ctr).

Therefore, the choice of the frame, according to the needs, has to fall upon doors and windows with a high level of soundproofing power.
Palomba®wooden windows with external aluminium cladding get the best results in terms of sound insulation since the company uses suitable panes, smooth seals which are also permanently flexible, weather-proof and easily replaceable.
Another important element is that the frame passes the air-permeability test and that, in a growing scale from 1 to 4, it gets at least 3 (Palomba®frame got 4, the best achievable class).
After taking care of all details, Palomba®is now able to put on the market a product with a versatile soundproofing power suitable for all customers’ needs: we meticulously choose panes from the technical point of view by using leading building techniques and boosting a product which ranks on the highest performance class in terms of air permeability.
